DO NOT BUY FROM HERE! It makes me sad to see the amount of people who come here to buy a puppy. I’ve been through it before; I bought a puppy from here about 6 months ago and he had luxating patella, kennel cough and had respiratory problems. He also had went through 2 surgeries and he was neutered. None of this was ever said to us. We also noticed that he had behavior problems which is common for puppies from puppy mills. The woman who sold him to us rushed us and got mad or rolled her eyes when my mom would try to read the papers she was making us sign. They sold this puppy for $2,700 as if he was healthy. Their vet supposedly said the puppy was fit for sale and he was perfectly healthy which goes to show you that all the vets that they recommend are working for them. They’re going to clearly say that every puppy there is fit for sale and healthy but obviously they’re not. We brought our puppy to a different vet, that wasn’t one of their suggestions and she pointed out all these problems that were mentioned before and she said that he is completely unfit for sale and she wrote us a certificate. Then we went to go get a second opinion and the vet also said he was unfit for sale. They also added that he was way too overpriced for the condition that he was in. Later on we reasearched where he came from and on his birth certificate it said he came from “Choice Puppies.” When we searched that place online it apparently went by a different name and the reviews stated how the place was a puppy mill and they sell to pet stores for profit without caring about the lives of the pups. When we read that, we confirmed that our puppy did indeed come from a puppy mill. I’m sure all of them do. Some are lucky and come out with no problems but they usually do. They falsely advertise healthy puppies; all these puppies are completely overpriced for the amount of problems that they have. The workers know what they’re doing but choose to ignore it. They take advantage of people and steal their money. The place itself treats the dogs poorly. They’re suffering in that store. It makes me sick to think that these people see nothing wrong with what they’re doing. Everyone please refrain from this place and any other puppy store. We need to put an end to puppy mills.
We got a Yorkie for our daughter for Christmas. Ms. Kaylynn was the young lady that helped us. She allowed us to interact with a couple of puppies and answered our questions. She explained the procedures and also the caring of the puppy. Overall, the animals seemed well cared for and their needs addressed. I wouldn't mind either adopting or purchasing from them again. Stop what you're doing! Do not get a pup from here!!! Go to the shelters! I wish I could turn back time and do that myself but If I could give negative stars I would. I bought a puppy from here a year ago he was already 6 months old, and he's the best dog ever! Other then medical issues we have with him since the first weekend we got him! He had kennel cough which I know is very common in pups from stores or even shelters but when we called to ask about their vet situation the person told me I have two options bring him to one of their vets or bring him back to the store and he'll be good by the weekend ... ? Kennel cough first of all doesn't get cured in two days so I was confused what they would do and hell no was I dropping our dog off for the weekend.. so we took our pup to our vet everything was fine he got better, but he is such a sketchy pup since the day we brought him home socialized him and everything he still doesn't like too many people and is afraid of everything! I feel so bad for him! Then a few months later he started to grow some type of tumor on his chest and that we are looking to get removed now so many health issues for a pup that supposedly came from a championship line.. good thing I never planned on showing him! And I know for a fact calling this store won't do us any good
I came in today to hopefully find a puppy to surprise my mom with for her birthday. There was one staff member who initially allowed us to take a puppy out to play with it. When we asked to play with a different one she claimed that she didn’t believe we were going to actually buy a dog and thus wouldn't let us take him out.... how could we possibly buy a dog without interacting with him/her first??? What kind of customer service flat out says “I don’t believe you”. She was extremely rude and bitter. I’ve bought a puppy from Shake a Paw before but never again. So disappointed.
I just went here earlier today and I was thinking about getting a puppy, and I was talking to the nice young man in the back asking him information on payments and how the puppies were treated, and he was really nice (I wish I could remember his name but I don’t, he was tall black and had an Afro, really nice guy). I decided it was time for me and my friend to pick a puppy so I could purchase and I handed the lady my ID and I was asking her question about the payments as well, but she was RUDE she had an attitude and her manager or the person next to her was quick to jump in and say that she wasn’t going to let me touch the puppy I really wanted to show my mom pictures so I could purchase one within this week. 1st I will not come to this establishment ever again because of bad customer service. 2nd I went to another pet store and put down a deposit for the dog I SAW AT THIS STORE for cheaper and 3rd The store was empty they weren’t doing anything, and you could have at least gave me a paper on payment or information or something, you two ladies just seemed lazy and rude.
